Whew!  So I finally finished the Sorting Of The Writing chapter of my Big KonMari Spare Oom Cleaning Project. Everything is where it's supposed to be, filed away in binders rather than piles of manila folders. And even more importantly, they're in semi-chronological order now, so they're much easier to search when I need them!  To wit:

Formerly Forgotten Bookshelf, top shelf: personal journals and poetry notebooks (along with binders from the 1995 transcription project)
Formerly Forgotten Bookshelf, bottom shelf: My earliest writing through to recently completed projects, including all trunked stories.

Black Bookshelf Next to Desk, bottom shelf: The Mendaihu Universe Library! Every scribble, artwork, outtake, printout with edit notes, and whatever else related, all the way from its 1993 origins up to 2015's self-pub edit notes. The only thing missing is a notebook and a folder (currently sitting over at Formerly Forgotten Bookshelf) of Possible Book Four notes and outtakes. I've got a plan for those.

Black Bookshelf Next to Desk, next to bottom shelf, left side: my artwork library, including all the sketchbooks and Murph-related drawings,
Black Bookshelf Next to Desk, next to bottom shelf, right side: the Walk In Silence Files -- two notebooks and a binder of older notes; also, a box of Extraneous Writing Things -- odd-shaped things such as index card outlines, word count calendar notebooks, and so on.

That done, I moved my two acoustic guitars back to their former place in front of the Window Bookcase, giving A easier access to her knitting stuff in the back closet.

SO!  What's next?

Good question. I have a few small things to dig through but that shouldn't take long at all. I think what I'll do is find time to do a Goodwill run and an Amoeba run. I have a pile of stuff to be donated and a bunch of dvds to sell.  THEN, if I'm crazy enough, I might actually tackle the back closet.  It's not in terrible shape, but it could definitely use some organization and thinning out. But that's gonna take some time and a lot of space to work with, not to mention a lot of heavy lifting.

So for now, I think I'm just going to revel in finally having my writing in order and an open floor plan again. Yay!
