I either need to quit my day job, quit the internets cold turkey, stay up way too late (and keep
emmalyon awake in the process), or invent a time machine, because I'm just not getting enough time in for writing.
This brought to you by Mr. Writer who is goofing off posting this on LJ. ;)

Date: 2010-07-26 02:28 pm (UTC)I have to stop dedicating time to goofing off on the internets and elsewhere, is the problem. The comics and the music and the LJ will be there when I get back. I just have to train myself again to remember that I don't have to be continually "plugged in".

Date: 2010-07-26 05:14 pm (UTC)AND YES, JONC OBVIOUS AWARE OF PROBLEM, BUT BEST SOLUTION IS JUST NOT TALK ABOUT PROBLEM. IDLE WORDS COULD BE SPENT CONSTRUCTIVE. AUDIENCE NOT WANT HEAR WHINE, WANT NEW STORIES.
SO YES, GET SMALL NETBOOK AND UNPLUG, DEDICATE N-MINUTES (NO MATTER HOW SMALL) PER DAY DO NOTHING ELSE, AND OTHER TIPS REPEATED OVER AND OVER IN WRITER GUIDES!
NO EXCUSE!

Date: 2010-07-26 07:35 pm (UTC)Seriously, it's part of my nature to whine (I'm French-Canadian, it's an artform for us!), but I agree...stop with the whining, since it's not helping one bit. That's precisely why I stopped posting about stupid things that go on at work--I may want to post it just to release some frustration, but it won't help one bit and will most likely irritate others. And besides, I was getting sick of posting that stuff.
Writing-wise, I have to say I am in a much better position to write than I was previously, I just need to keep working at it and continue to work at it.
That said--I'll shut up now. Thanks for the pants-kicking I needed. :)
