Did you ever notice that most Boston bands have that *something* in their sound that you can't quite grasp, but you can tell it's a Boston thing? Like NYC's drug-chic sound (yes, Strokes, I'm looking at you) or San Francisco's 60s.

To wit:

Human Sexual Response. If you lived in MA in the early 80s, you'd know this song and love it to pieces and think that bottle-strumming was cool as shit. ;)

Or a bunch from the early 90s:

Tribe. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this band when they were big. And yes, I was one of the many Bostonians who thought Janet LaValley was hot.

The Raindogs. This one popped up on one of my radio tapes, and it was one of those "OMG completely forgot about this one" moments. ;)

The Cavedogs, ditto.

O-Positive. Great tune.

Boston has always had a lot of good bands. Not all of them made it big, but they were always good. :)

I know it's on the 2nd album In a Roman Mood, which I found in a dollar bin in Cambridge (which would make sense). The mp3 version I have now is a kind-of-okay vinyl-to-tape-to-mp3 generation copy. (I can mail it to anyone who asks nicely)

But yeah--that was one of those that nobody except a select few seem to remember, but those that do LOVE it. ;)

I would very much like to have that tune in my collection, s'il vous plait. It is super-awesome.
