Hey all!

I meant to update this last night but I never got around to it. By the time I finished IMing with Emm I was too tired to do anything else!!

So.

Yesterday was my last day at YC. I was there a few months shy of five years, quite possibly the longest job I've ever held. Can't say I'll miss the 5am starts (or the 4am starts during Q4) or working on Saturdays, or driving there during the winter before the plows and sanders get to the roads, or picking up hundreds of 10-40 lb. boxes for eight hours straight, or the cliques that popped up not only within the department but elsewhere, or the consistently complaining coworkers...but other than that, I will actually miss that place. More importantly, I'll miss the great friends I made over the years (Bruce, Leslie, Dom, Eric, Mike, Di, Adam, Aaron, Cathy S., Christian, the Salvini bros., the list goes on...). It really felt weird walking out and admitting to myself that I won't be seeing them on a daily basis anymore. And I'd like to publicly thank those who stopped by the Elm Street Tavern after work to see me off. I'll keep my promise and come back to visit when I can.

I'm very nearly finished with the whole packing/storing project; I just need to clean off the top of my bureau, take out and pack a few more clothes items from the closet, pack up the computer, and attempt to get everything into the car. It shouldn't take more than a few hours to get all this done; I should be finished by early evening. The last thing to be put into the car will be the computer. I'll be posting something tomorrow before I leave, just to give it that feeling of finality.

So yeah...
