jon_chaissonI'm sure you all know for a fact that as soon as the significant other goes away on a business trip, all normal habits (like eating well and going to bed early) go out the window. emmalyon is somewhere in the sticks (literally) of NJ on yet another business trip.
So yesterday I did manage to get a good amount of stuff done despite playing around with my mp3s for awhile (hey, it's the weekend, I deserve slack-off time now and again). Things around the apartment are getting cleaned, the bedsheets have been washed, shopping has been done, all done in time for me to watch the Saturday evening anime.
Oh--speaking of mp3s, I somehow managed to find two 80s songs that made me quite happy: "One Step Closer to You" by Gavin Christopher and "She Makes Me Feel Big" by The Fools. Ah, memories...and speaking of OSCTY, for those who remember, that was the title song for a John-Hughes-esque screenplay I wrote in high school, and last night I managed to find the remaining songs I didn't have on iTunes to complete the "official soundtrack" to it. I am listening to it right now and reliving my dorky years as we speak. :p
This morning I woke up thinking it was nearly 9am (I'd forgotten to change the clocks back last night as I goofed off on the computer), only to be happy that I'd actually woken up at a normal time (quarter to eight) for a weekend. Which meant more time to do stuff in the morning! This included catching up on the pile of stuff to be shredded (I now have two trash bags worth of confetti :p ) and cleaning off the desk to some degree. On tap for today is more shopping (I need more milk and half&half, more trash bags and other stuff), continued shredding, working on the LLB rewrite, and the Pats/Colts game, which is coming on in about a half hour. Which means I gotta go shopping right quick! :p
Speaking of the LLB rewrite--very nearly done with Chapter 2, but it's posing a problem--specifically, the problem that I need to heavily rewrite a scene because that particular part of the storyline has been overhauled except for this one bit. So apparently Cassandra did not stake the vampire Duncan...she only, er...well, I'm not sure what I had in mind. Will need to fix that. *scratches head*
Anyway--off to run to the store and pick up more stuff! Hope everyone's having a great weekend! :)
(PS--Will talk more about the potentially good work-related news later on today...this merits a separate post. Long story short, I may be in the running for a potentially better position at the bank. w000t!)
