Mar. 4th, 2022 02:17 pmToday is Friday so of course I'm terribly distracted by new music releases (this new Bob Moses record is just as amazing as I'd hoped!), but somehow I've managed to squeeze a few more words out regardless.
Revision/rewrite work continues apace for Theadia. Some days I'm merely tidying up an already-written chapter, but other days I'm inserting brand new scenes, like I've been doing these last couple of days. These other primary characters are just as important as our titular heroes and their immediate friends and family, so I've been inserting them in as neceessary The end result is that this is turning into a Big Ensemble book, and you know how much I love writing those!
It's hard work, but it's fun work. I love the process of giving this book its proper pace and style. I love giving these characters room to breathe with their own personalities and quirks. I love knowing ahead of time that their fates are intertwined and working to make that happen in the right ways. I could say it's a bit like weaving a huge tapestry, which is apt, because this novel has deliberate connections to the crafts of weaving and knitting! Heh.
Job Updatery: So yes, looks like it's 95% official, I now work part-time for Andronico's Super Market eight blocks due west of me. The 5% holdout here is that I'm yet to wait for the legal paperwork to clear on their end. The store manager says they've just installed a new hiring process software that is still buggy AF (surprise surprise) so eventually I should get a call from them to set up a start date and a schedule. More soon as this unfolds...
