Weekend Update is Too Darn Hot
Sep. 25th, 2016 02:32 pmOkay, so 88°F isn't exactly hot for some, but when you live in a city where the normal average temperature is more in the low-fifties/mid-sixties, this is quite toasty. Especially when you live in a neighborhood that's been seeing fog cover for most of the summer months. We got as far as Land's End lookout before calling it a day and heading back home.
Yesterday was a roadtrip up to Yountville (population three-thousand some-odd people and dozens of vineyards) to watch a peculiar but interesting production of Measure + Dido featuring one Derek Jacobi among others. It's a mashup of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure and Purcell's opera Dido & Aeneas, basically a reading of the play and the opera (with very minimal actual acting) with the local chamber orchestra playing along. Quite a lot of fun, even if it was out in the middle of nowhere! We ended the evening having a very late dinner at Sonic, of all places. :)
Today includes writing, shredding, cleaning, and laundry. It's just too dang hot to do anything else outside.
