44: Along the Road
Aug. 25th, 2011 07:39 pmAlong the road we sang our hearts out
Singing to ten with the Violent Femmes
Tripping up the words of the new Cure single
Harmonizing along with Amy and Emily
We drove down on a Friday night to Noho
Going out to eat at the India House
Or Panda East or whatever was open
Spent all our money at Main Street
Watched movies, listened to new music
Talked about the importance of nothing in particular
Over coffee and sodas at Bonducci's
Out on the Amherst Common we'd laugh
We'd quote Python and joke about teachers
And along the road back we'd hold our breaths
All the way through Shutesbury (all forty feet)
And sing our hearts out all the way back home
