I've been quite the busy guy lately, so that would explain the lack of web presence as of late. Creating a synopsis for A Division of Souls for [livejournal.com profile] dancinghorse's critique has been taking up quite a bit of my writing time for the last few weeks. Normally a synopsis wouldn't take too long for me to throw together, but there are a few reasons for this:

--busy doing other non-writing things
--trying to squeeze a large amount of writing into a small amount of time per day
--having never actually written a definitive synopsis for this book before
--okay, I freely admit that our current addiction to Avatar: The Last Airbender and Dragonball Z Kai as of late (damn you, NickToons!!) is distracting me

On the plus side, I'm mere pages away from finishing, so hopefully I should be finished with the stupidly long synopsis by tonight. It's currently at eleven pages, which means I'll be paring it down once it's done. There's a lot that goes on in this book (I warn you, it's a doorstop novel at 150k words presently), but I figure I can leave out a few minor details in the final synopsis that are tertiary to the main plot.

In other news...I beleive our router is finally starting to act up. We've had it since moving here in 2005, so it could be that it's finally wearing down. I could possibly reach out to AT&T to see if we could get a replacement, or we could shop for a new one (any suggestions from the peanut gallery on this one is of course welcome). In other PC news, the 2 TB external I'm eyeing on Amazon is now cheaper than the first external I bought back in 2005 (which has a whopping 111 GB), so perhaps I may order that soon, to replace two of the three that I have already. Related: My next bit of timewasting when I should be writing thing to do is to finally wipe the memory on my old PC and donate it. I figure when I get the new external I'll do it then and donate the older externals as well. That should open up a bit of space in my closet. :)

Straightening up Spare Oom has been on my list as well, and it's been going quite well. After the Great Book Purge, Emm and I donated the leftovers to the SF Library and I threw a handful of old magazines into the recycling, along with the ridiculous amount of old boxes, bags and other bits that we didn't need. I can sit on the couch in there again! Next up in that room:

--plastic bin o' Jonc's Random Crap for filing/packing/shredding/tossing
--boxes of CDs in the closet, pare them down again for selling at Amoeba
--gather other random things, take pictures, and sell on eBay/craigslist
--donate anything else (clothes, appliances, etc) to Goodwill
--major cleaning of desk drawers

So yes, it's going slow, but it looks like Spring Cleaning has now commenced. :)
