17: Sur la Dernière Page du Chapitre
Dec. 19th, 2010 02:10 pmThe last day of the year is always filled with preparation
The finishing of last minute business, the last of the deliveries
The preparing of the food, the unexpected change of plans
It's the last day of the year, the last page of the chapter
The last time I'll ever be able to do this during the year
And we'll be here next year (yes, we'll see you next year)
Everyone's listening to the days of the year gone by
Everyone's listening to the countdown on the radio
Everyone's watching the ball drop on the television
Everyone's counting down to the number zero
The last day of the year is always filled with jubilation
The revelling in the closure, the finality of it all
The wilful forgetting of accidents and regrets gone by
It's the last day of the year, the last page of the chapter
The last time we'll ever have to think of any of this again
Until we're reminded next year (yes, we'll be reminded next year)
Everyone's listening to the days of the year gone by
Everyone's listening to the countdown on the radio
Everyone's watching the ball drop on the television
Everyone's counting down to the number zero
"...sur la dernière page du chapitre" is a lyric from "The Last Laugh of the Laughter" by Travis, written by Fran Healy, ©1999
