[Music] Oh solo Dominique
Jun. 7th, 2010 09:23 amSo I had to use up 81 tracks on eMusic by this weekend, but I couldn't decide what I wanted to download. Don't get me wrong, I have quite the "saved for later" list, as well as a few handwritten notes of discographies I can grab. In fact, I came very close to nabbing Cheap Trick at one point, but decided to do that at a later time. So what did I end up grabbing?
The Bee Gees.
Yes, I downloaded all their pre-Main Course albums, the era where they were more of a folk-pop band with slight psychedelic tendencies. BUT! This meant that I didn't have their first three post-bubblegum (read: after the first two Aussie-only pop albums, which I've found in all sorts of releases online), 1st, Horizontal and Idea, which, by the way, were recently rereleased a few years back with all sorts of extras that I've been wanting to snag. And it just so happened that I had two Amazon gift certificates I'd almost completely forgotten about. WIN!
SO! I now have everything from 1967 to 1974, their pre-disco era (including this awesome song that I've wanted to cover for YEARS, and whose lyric was used as the subject line). Once my eMusic allotment recycles, I'll snag the rest of them, and perhaps grab the one or two albums from Amazon that eMusic doesn't have.
So yes. I will soon have the complete Bee Gees discography. Go ahead and mock me if you will... ;)
