Since I've been posting chapters of the trilogy over at
edencycle over the past few months, and especially now that I'm obsessing over how to reorganize/revise/edit/etc The Process of Belief, I suppose it could be considered a *GOOD* thing that my dreams have been infused with various characters (including myself) whose spirits are Mihari and/or Misuteru-based. My dreams over the last week have included characters playing guardian angels for other people, spies hiding themselves within the ranks of the "enemy", witnessing soulhealing...all sorts of things that actually take place in the world of the Eden Cycle. I'm greatly amused and actually happy that this is happening, really...I think it's a sign that revisiting the trilogy, especially the way I've been doing, has had a positive effect on me. Before starting on this project, I was worried that I wouldn't click with it as I once did, or that the project would suck more than I remember. Neither has turned out such--in fact, I'm definitely clicking with it again, and in a different way. I think that I'd gotten too close to the story and lost focus of the big picture near the end. And I'm surprised at the quality of the work, too...some of it reads better than some of my current work.
There's also the fact that I think that I might have a bit of a better chance to sell this than I did earlier this decade. The genre has changed considerably, and I'm thinking that I may just be able to pull this off. Not sure with who, but still...the chance is still there. Plus, the outlets out there have grown as well...if the big name publisher doesn't work, there's always the ebook, the PoD, and so on...we'll see.
