I am so not going to be able to concentrate on work today...

Sorry we got you such a stressful gift of having a major (and fateful) election! We'll try to do our best and make good with your request regarding it, though. ;)

Don't forget to pick up your donuts and bacon on the way home today! :)

I am currently watching this map supplied by Daily Kos, and as of 5:21pm PT, Texas is...er...wait.

LIGHT BLUE?!??

I...uh...wow. O_o...

Okay, is it bad that every time someone says "too early to tell", my brain goes to:

PRESENTER: ... Professor, you've spent many years researching into things, what do you think?

PROFESSOR: I think it's too early to tell.

Cut to presenter, he talks even faster now.

PRESENTER: 'Too early to tell' ... too early to say... it means the same thing. The word 'say' is the same as the word 'tell'. They're not spelt the same, but they mean the same. It's an identical situation, we have with 'ship' and 'boat'--

(holds up signs saying 'ship' and 'boat')

--but not the same as we have with 'bow' and 'bough'--

(holds up signs)

--they're spelt differently, mean different things but sound the same.

(he holds up signs saying 'so there')

1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS. Something that makes you happy.
3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

I have two online comics that always make me laugh:

jon_chaisson: (Orson Welles)

Six o'clock in the morning
And I'm stepping through the streets
The pavement's cold and empty
Got the blues beneath my feet.
Big old sun is rising up
So elegant and thin
Another day is over
So a new day will begin
And the word said hey...
It's a brand new day

Oh baby baby baby
I dreamed about you
Please tell me tell me tell me
What I've seen could not be true
You have taken my existance
You have filled it full of stones
You have turned into a stranger
Now I need to walk alone

But I won't be sad
But I won't be destroyed...

And the word said
Hey... it's a brand new day....

You have FINALLY made me stop thinking cynical thoughts about you all the time.

You have done something so unpredicted, so well-planned, so damned PHENOMENAL that it has hit me square in the gut, made me proud of you, and inspired me.

And I thank you.

I wish I had more to say...I wish I knew what more to say...but I can't think of anything that hasn't already been said, or what's being said right now.

But thanks.

You've inspired me again. Bless you.
