Rarebit Dreams
Aug. 4th, 2008 08:05 amSo
emmalyon made a DELICIOUS roast yesterday (the meat was on sale and we couldn't pass it up) and we both ate more than our share of it, so we were still quite full by the time we climbed into bed for the night.
Which, of course, caused me to have some pretty strange, sometimes even animated (in the animation sense, that is) dreams. They included:
--Being on some trip with an unnamed friend (completely made up, mind you), who'd decided to fall in love with some small-town waitress (complete with beehive hair), and wanted to stay where we'd stopped for the evening. He went off and became a cartoon character (as she already was), they opened up a diner with his money and they lived happily ever after and their diner was a smashing success.

emmalyon and I went to some meet-and-greet where we met a lot of different famous people. There was no theme to it, just that a lot of famous people were there. I got to meet Muhammed Ali and told him I remember seeing a cartoon based on him back when I was a kid. He was quite amused by that.
--I'd been nominated for Best Adapted Novel or suchlike at some awards ceremony that wasn't so much novel related as it was movie related...it was sort of like an Oscar thing. I had to go through all these different rooms and buildings in order to sign up for my seating in the theater. I was told I could get two extra tickets, but I couldn't decide who to give them to, and they had to know their names before I could get them. Also I met many other nominees and many of them reacted to my presence with curiosity, wondering why this weirdo formerly from New England was there. Apparently they took a shine to my New England humor, though.
--I'd heard on the radio that Jello Biafra had passed away. They didn't say why, and they'd glossed over the story as if he was a has-been, even though he's an institution here in San Francisco.
....and then I woke up. A bit tired and disoriented, but rested.
