One of Those Updatery Thingies
Nov. 12th, 2007 11:15 amNot too much happening here at the moment, as I have the day off today. This is going to be a quick month, as I also have next Thursday off for Thanksgiving, so I have to make sure I don't end up using this month as a goof-off period, which I tend to do when there are too many days off. In the meantime, just some random updates...
[Writing] Will most likely spend a good amount of time working on the LLB rewrite today, although I have this hankering to work on something different, either the trilogy or TCoDC. I hate my writing ADD...it's keeping my from getting things DONE, dang it!!
[Music] I came very close to buying the newly remastered dvd of Help! but stopped myself, thinking someone would most likely get it for me for Christmas. So I'll be good. On the other hand, I did spend some money at Amoeba on Saturday...I think the list of stuff I bought could easily be split up 50/50 me and Emm. Goes to show how much my music purchasing habits have changed... :p
[Work] Still haven't heard from the HR department as to whether or not I got the new position I tried out for the other week. Without going into too much detail, this job is more dealing with existing business clients who need paperwork/files/etc., rather than boring random customer calls. Will keep people informed on this once I find out! I'm pretty positive I've got a good chance on this job, but I'm not going to bring my hopes up too much. But I will say that I will be rightly pissed if I don't get it.
[Holidays] This is sooo weird...of course, since it's past Halloween, we're already seeing stores setting up for the Christmas season, despite the fact that it's not yet Thanksgiving. And despite my best efforts, somehow I find myself falling into the Holiday Spirit like I always do. Being busy at the job notwithstanding, I'm finding myself longing for the fun that is the Christmas season. Hell, even though I've worked in retail for years during that time (and worked four years in a warehouse with an insane fourth quarter), I still find it a lot of fun. I've a feeling I'm probably going to pontificate on this at some point closer to Christmas, but for now I'll just say that for me, Christmas season does not official start until I hear "Feliz Navidad" on the radio. ;)
[Vacations] Not sure when we're going to be heading out on vacations again, but for now I will definitely be trying to get some decent times off. The vacation lottery has started a bit early at work, and so I have to get my first choices in by the 19th, and I do have a few ideas of what times I want to get off. Hopefully at some point we'll be heading back to New England to visit family and friends in the new year...!
...
And that's it for now. Hope all is going well with everyone, and hopefully the weather isn't too bad for all my friends in the Seattle area!!
