[livejournal.com profile] emmalyon and I woke up this morning to my radio alarm going off (for a good reason--she had to head off to work for a few hours today), and found out that our local alt.rock station is 21 years old as of this weekend (at least with the present format) and they've decided to pepper their playlist this weekend with the top ten songs from each year. Currently they're on 1989 and playing "Sold Me Down the River" by the Alarm--a song I haven't heard in years!

If you're up for it and don't mind listening to the radio online, definitely check it out:

Live 105.com, and click on "Listen Online."

Enjoy! :)

So Emm and I went to the SF Library Book Sale, (and was somehow lucky enough to find a parking spot very close to the building itself, as someone had brilliantly decided to schedule a Blues Festival in the park just next door) where we had to actually force ourselves to walk away, as we kept on finding more and more things to throw in our cart. All told we dropped about fifty bucks on books. What--like you'd expect us to walk out with less?? :p

Not much else planned for this weekend...the usual Saturday night anime, my writing, our lunch elsewhere (we're thinking The Stinking Rose, as we haven't been there in a while), and typical errands (laundry, food shopping, etc). Not much else to report.

In other news, I think I need more food, reading, and writing LJ icons, but for the life of me I can't seem to find anything that's catching my eye. Maybe I'll look again later...

Oh, and one other thing--the other night, thanks to a Beatles discography site, I managed to throw together a list of Beatles solo tracks that are at present not commercially available on CD. Interesting how there's exactly one Beatles song ("The Beatles Movie Medley"), three Ringo tracks, about six George tracks, one John track (it's a single version of an album track) and a BOATLOAD of Paul tracks. Apparently Paul went a bit loopy in the mid-80s to early 90s and put out a bajillion extra tracks as b-sides. I posted it at the [livejournal.com profile] beatlefiles LJ community (it can be found here) if anyone is interested.

And now to get some writing done!
