So yeah, today on my mp3 player I'm listening to songs from 1985. I don't quite know what possessed me to put them on there in the first place (oh wait, it's because I had a song from The Breakfast Club in my head while in the shower this morning), but I'm having fun listening to them. Especially when genres are crossing. It's kind of weird having Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Robert Palmer, Cheap Trick and Supertramp on the same playlist, but at the same time I'm noticing the styles really weren't all that different as I'd remembered them. Well, except for songs like "Enigma of the Absolute" by Dead Can Dance, which feels totally out of place... :p
