For the past few weeks it's been very slow here at work and I've been tempted to follow
head58's lead and retool the ol' LJ so it will look all document-like. Thing is, it looks so purty now that it's not worth the hassle. :p
It's not as if we're running out of work. It's more like it's busy at the beginning and end of the month, and it's just sparse in between. I'm trying to keep myself from sneaking online (like I am now), but there are times when that's all I can do, waiting until more work comes my way.
(NOTE: this next section is dedicated to
sutelae who apparently enjoys my travelogue posts... :p )
In other news, once again the weather has been very weird. I guess I should just get used to all these fun microclimates in this city... :p Speaking of which, I'm still trying to figure out the topography of this place as well. The hills don't exactly make sense to me yet, and I keep thinking that the western half of the city is higher in elevation than the eastern half, causing me to think that the Pacific Ocean is higher in elevation than the Embarcadero. Go figure. I also lost my sense of direction at Golden Gate Park on Sunday when Emm and I went to the Botanical Gardens. It made me realize that my sense of direction back in MA was more aural than inner sense, as I knew where I was in the woods near my house by the sound of cars on Rt 2 and the sounds of downtown. It was only when I saw the tv tower on Mt. Sutro nearby that I knew where I was in the Gardens! :p
Well, I was just given stuff to do (ooh, 2 items!), so more later...
