Random Bits
Feb. 6th, 2006 09:27 pmITEM: A month ago Emm and I were walking down Columbus away from Washington Square and I swear I saw Carlos Santana walking by me. He looked rather pimped out, but damn, if it didn't look like him. Don't remember if I mentioned that here.
ITEM: In the men's room where I work, the air purifier sensor's beep sounds like the 'hit' beep on that 80s handheld baseball game. I think of it every time I hear it.
ITEM: On the way home today I saw two bleach-blonde guys heading to the Ferry Building. My first guess was that they looked like weathered old rockers--they certainly looked it. One looked very much like Sammy Hagar if he looked old for his age. Or as I said to Emm, 'I'm kinda hoping it wasn't him, because he didn't look too good.' Later on I thought they might be surfers...
ITEM: Another sound--the central copy machine has a strange whine to it that sounds like bits of the theme from the Munsters. Every time I use it I get that song stuck in my head, damn it.
ITEM: Car crash at the end of my street this morning. One car involved and they bent the hell out of the barrier at the Bay Street stop. Emm and I are still trying to figure out how that one happened.
ITEM: I love how I'll have a hell of a time trying to write a scene and the only way it works is if I come up with something totally random and run with it. Eight times out of ten it works.
ITEM: I'm quite amused that the 9th floor cafeteria where I work has old coin-op games down one of its hallways. The 9th floor deck also has a rather impressive and LARGE sundial. Ooh, shiny! :p
ITEM: Obviously I didn't get to the Radio Radio article. Soon, kids, soon!
ITEM: I am so totally going retro with tunage lately. Decline and Fall is calling my name again, and I'm wondering if I should heed its call this time or wait some more...
