Stuff and Bother
Jan. 9th, 2006 09:31 amGonna be a busy day today. Laundry, continue on the divvying/shredding, writing, job searching, calling the phone company because of an insanely LARGE phone bill (which isn't our fault--we think they double-charged us somewhere...) ...methinks I can get most of this done or a good chunk of it. As long as I don't plant my fat butt down on the couch to watch Mythbusters this morning. :p
In other news, Emm and I went down to Ocean Beach yesterday and had a very nice walk on the sand. It felt kind of strange to be dipping my toes in ocean water at the beginning of January--added to the fact that it was sunny and warm--but I'm not complaining. It was a beautiful day for it! We drove down there via Bay to Van Ness, then Van Ness to Geary Blvd. all the way to the ocean. Van Ness (or should I say the west side of Russian Hill) has a lot of interesting stuff there that we might return to, such as nifty shops and theaters. I wasn't sure how long it was going to take, but it seemed to take only about a half hour--this on a Sunday, so that's pretty good.
We drove back by way of Golden Gate Park, driving through about half of it before we were diverted back onto Fulton...let's just say that if I ever feel the need to go hiking in the woods, there's a good stretch of it there that I can walk through. :) The drive back was fine, until I made the mistake of driving down Fillmore Street. All seemed fine until I got to the north side of Russian Hill--there are two hills on Fillmore that are pretty damn steep, which I didn't expect until we were already there. Let's just say that it wasn't nearly as bad as that first hill on the Superman ride at Six Flags, but it comes close. ;)
And after we got back to the homestead in one piece we walked up to Washington Square Park and ate at Rogue's, which is one of those beer works kind of places that has reeeeeeeeeeally good beer. I had a chocolate stout that I think
inochinoakari would be wise to stay away from... ;)
Which reminds me...I find it rather amusing that I really wasn't much of a beer drinker, not even in NJ, until I came here. Yet another reason for me to make sure my gut doesn't get the best of me... :p
