After not listening to K-ROCK2 for quite some time, I thought I'd listen in again. It had gotten a bit repetitive (hearing NIN's "Only" five times a day did put me off the song briefly...), and to an extent their set rotation is still more or less the same. But now I'm hearing a few new songs that just ROCK.

HIM, "Wings of a Butterfly"--I have one of that band's other cds. Their earlier stuff sounded a bit like a poor man's version of Sisters of Mercy, but this new song has surprised me. They've moved more to Mission UK (and I see the irony in that) in sound. Now if the US could get their releases straight...

Editors, "Bullets"--WOW. O_O I know they sound like Interpol--very much so--but this song KICKS ASS. Unfortunately their album is only available as import, but I'm hoping they release it domestically. If not, I'm more than willing to buy it anyway, just on this one song.

The Decemberists, "16 Military Wives"--yeah, this song has been out awhile, but this has to be the happiest anti-war song I've ever heard. The album is quite good. I didn't expect to like these guys as much as I did.

Bloc Party, "Helicopter"--I gotta pick this cd up too. And check out the video if you can find it anywhere--really good quality animation, even if the storyline is quite odd...

Happy Mondays, "Playground Superstar"--yes, a NEW Mondays song! It's only available on import on the Goal! soundtrack, but it sounds as if they picked up right where they left off with the Pills n' Thrills album. I might have to look for this one too...

Speaking of HM, check out Gorillaz' video for "Dare" if you haven't seen it already. See a bodiless Shaun Ryder singing along with Noodle! :)
