Is it me or did the temperature go from the low 80s to low 60s within the span of two weeks?!??
A few weeks back I talked with my mother-in-law (still feels weird saying that) about the party this weekend and she'd said how she was hoping to see some foliage when she came up to MA. As I'm not up there, I don't know if the leaves have turned yet or not, but I gather that it's at least started already. It's been kind of a dry summer so the colors might not be as vibrant as they usually are, but given the rain that's been coming down over the last week or so, it might speed things along. Things like this do happen in New England...
I think over the last few years I've been too busy and distracted by writing and work to notice the changing of the seasons (last year in particular, due to the crazy schedule I had), but it's really coming into focus this time around. Now that I have a job with regular hours (read: 8-4, not pre-dawn to early afternoon), I get to really notice the weather changes, the color changes, and the days getting shorter. I guess it's the Frost in me that relishes watching things like that and appreciating it as I do.
So!
Going up to Massachusetts tonight and will be returning on Sunday. I can't wait to see most of you who are coming to me and
emmalyon's party, and for those of you who couldn't make it, I hope you have a great weekend, stay warm and dry, and let's hope this damn rain goes away soon!!!
