I've been feeling extremely tired over the last few days, and I don't really know why. I feel as though I haven't been sleeping well, even though I know I've been out like a light over the past few nights. It feels as though I may or may not be coming down with something (which would totally SUCK as missing days means no pay for me...I get no vacation days! :( ) and I'm making sure that I get enough sleep and whatnot.

I'm figuring one reason for this might be that my eating habits were askew while Emm was gone (yeah, I did the bachelor thing and snacked and/or made something small instead of going the whole hog). I found myself insanely hungry yesterday after I picked Emm up from the airport (and proceeded to make a pig of myself at the Empire), and also had a really good hot bowl of beef stew last night, but I still feel tired.

I was also wondering if it might be something psychosomatic, as over the last four years when I worked at YC, this was about the time that Q4 started, which meant 5am or 4am starts and six-day work weeks with an insane amount of box-lifting. This is the first fourth quarter in a while where I'm not being run into the ground by heavy work, and perhaps my body is gearing up for it out of habit. Sure, it sounds crazy, but it wouldn't surprise me either. ;)

So right now I have some java next to my computer and some Dr. Pepper to drink later on. I don't feel sick, I just have this feeling of exhaustion right now, and I hope it goes away soon. It's putting a damper on my writing time as well as wanting to do other things. I even passed up watching another Firefly episode (sorry, Emm) because I didn't think I'd have the energy to pay attention to it.

Last night I had a rather bizarre dream in which me and a handful of people had to get to a shelter quickly and ride out a sinister force. I don't know if it was a force of nature (like a Cat5 hurricane or a tsunami) or if it was an invading force, i.e. a military enemy. I'm thinking it's the latter, as after we rode it all out we emerged to find the land around us in smoky ruin. It was a rather vivid dream and I seem to remember cowering as we heard loud rumbling above us while we hid in near-darkness. The only odd thing about this dream is that Annie Lennox was one of the people down there. Don't know why, though...

This isn't the only war-themed dream I've had over the past month. I know it's due to the fact that I've been talking about the IWN endlessly here on LJ, added to the fact that I'm in the middle of rereading The Children's War by J.N. Stroyar, which is an alternate-reality sort of story where the Nazis had won WWII. In the past few weeks I've dreamed of finding a literal Underground Railroad people were using to escape the area, and I dreamed about trying to get through a war zone without getting shot.

I'm thinking that the IWN is subliminally calling me again, trying to talk me into one more rewrite for old time's sake. ;)
