Sony BMG caught in payola!
Jul. 26th, 2005 11:23 amOkay, this is a rather interesting thing I heard on NPR yesterday on the way home, and I couldn't be happier. The fact that one of the biggest music distributors (second only to Vivendi Universal, I believe) has been screwing with radio stations is disgusting. In a way I'm glad that satellite radio and internet radio is going so well, but I'm also kinda saddened that this kind of bullcrap screws over stations. The station misses out on promotions because they don't play Celine Dion enough? Yeah, that's screwy. It ain't right.

(NOTE: I had to find this article at the NY Times site, as I couldn't find it anywhere on CNN.com, which is owned, not surprisingly, by another company that owns a music distributor: Warner. Strange, no? ;) )
