So...

This has been a strange couple of months. A whirlwind, to use a cliché. I can't get over the fact that, if all goes according to plan, I should be moving down to NJ with [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon and [livejournal.com profile] lynxreign and [livejournal.com profile] inochinoakari at the end of the month. It only took me ten years to move out of the house!! Sheesh! I love my family to bits, but I gotta move out. I just turned 34, and I gotta move my life forward or else I'm going to turn into one of the drinkers in that damn Billy Joel song (you know which one that is, people... ;) ). And I really don't think I'd be able to handle that. But onward and upward, y'know? Positive thinking. Living life with someone I love, hanging with good friends, and giving myself the open channels to a career I've always wanted in the writing field.

Ah, life. :)

So I told Emm that I feel like I'm in my last few weeks of college, about to take the final final exams that I'll ever have to take in my life (barring graduate courses I may take)...a chapter of my life is FINALLY coming to a close. Like the autobiography I started writing in high school finally has an ending, so to speak. Weird, yes, but that's the way it feels. Also what weirds me out is the fact that I'll be leaving a job that I've had for close to five years. Despite the comfort of having a stable job, I really don't want to shlep boxes for the rest of my life. It's tiring me out and I'm losing interest. I think leaving before I really start slacking off there would be a good move...

More on this later, as I'm in the middle of talking with Emm on IM, so I'll leave you with something that's been going through my head lately: songs dealing with moving out/away/on...

The Cure, "Homesick" (from Disintegration)
Electric Light Orchestra, "Steppin' Out" (from Out of the Blue)
Information Society, "Move Out" (from Hack)
Billy Joel, "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)" (from The Stranger)
Talk Talk, "It's My Life" (from It's My Life)
U2, "Where the Streets Have No Name" (from The Joshua Tree)

If anyone can think of any other songs...
