Twelve...frikkin'....HOURS...
Oct. 25th, 2004 06:14 pmSo we've got mandatory 5am start at work all this week. Anyone who knows me knows that I'll be there, but not cognizant until sometime around 8am when the coffee and other caffeine-type drinks have kicked in. So this typical Monday I got up and was surprisingly awake.
Later on that morning I wrap a total of sixteen pallets of product for 3 separate distribution warehouses for Dillards (heh heh...I said 'Dillards'...*ahem* sorry...:p ), and quickly forget about them once they're on a truck. One slight problem is that the box count wasn't correct on any of the orders. I am told to just send them anyway.
Quarter past one, forty-five minutes before I'm supposed to leave, my boss comes out and tells me that I can't send them out like that, that I have to find out what the problem was, pull the pallets off the door and get a few lucky bastards to help me recount and rebuild the orders. Stayed until, you guessed it, 5pm to get it done.
I worked twelve hours today...bleh...
On a good note, this is going to pad next week's check, so I'll be happy. This extra dough will help when I go with
lynxreign and
emmalyon to NYC to the WFMU record show. I might have to use the remaining money to build an addition to this house just to store my music collection...
And oddly enough, I think I might have just enough energy to do a wee bit of writing tonight, but I'm not going to push myself. If I end up noodling around online all night, that's fine too.
