The Trilogy That Wouldn't Die
Oct. 20th, 2004 07:59 pmRight.
I've been writing this damn trilogy of mine, in its present form, since some time in 2000, soon after I started working at YC. Book 1 took a year and a half, Book 2 took exactly a year and some-odd hours, and this one is shaping to be done by early November.
That is, if I can get the damn thing finished.
I've got a peculiar form of Writer's Block that won't let go, and I can only think of a few reasons why it's there:
1.) Work-related stress/exhaustion. I've been dead tired when I get home, only to be up and awake and creative by the time I get downstairs to write.
2.) Even though I'm so close to the End of Book 3, I'm still not quite sure how it's going to end exactly.
3.) I'm just afraid to finish the thing.
4.) I'm spending entirely way too much time reading LJ posts... *wink*
5.) I'm jumpoing the gun and hoping to start in on the vampire story before I get this trilogy finished once and for all.
AAARRRRRRRGHHH!!!!!! I just want to finish it, and my brain one let me!!! Yeah, it is writer's block, but it's not as if I can't think of ideas; I've just been way too easily distracted lately...
*ahem* Back to your regularly scheduled LJ commentary...
