Apparently your having a laptop doowacky like this one inspired my wife
emmalyon to buy me one for Christmas! Glee!
So now I have one quick question...I know you probably have a different one than I do, but I seem to be having a hell of a time trying to figure out how the hell to get the wireless part to actually work. For the life of me I have no idea why it's just not picking it up. It can read it, it just won't connect.
I've already emailed AlphaSmart support about it, but I'm just wondering if you had the same problem (or have any suggestions), since I hear you have one like this. If not, just ignore the post! Thanks! :p

Date: 2006-12-26 02:27 am (UTC)The Dana is definitely a step up (I've heard it's very popular with the journalist sorts). I just preferred the utter lack of distractions and the 700 battery life. But keep in mind I actually do have a laptop for portable computing. I don't think you do, so the deluxe AlphaSmart works better for your needs than it would mine. LoL
The flash is cool. Mine doesn't have that
Sorry to be useless for the Dana. I can't even get the infrared on mine to work (I just sync it with the cable, so I'm doubley clueless :D
Enjoy! Having my AlphaSmart has done amazing things to productivity. Not that I couldn't do it another way... but it's the right tool to harness that "power". :)

Date: 2006-12-26 02:37 am (UTC)I haven't tried the infrared yet, but then again I don't have a Palm anyway...but syncing it with the main 'puter here was insanely easy.
But yeah, I know I'm going to use this quite a bit once I get used to it. I'm probably not going to be doing any heavy-duty writing until I'm finished with the current novel (only 1.5 chapters to go, then the rewrite), but I'm sure I could at least play around with it to get used to it. :)
