I, on the other hand, am 33, own a mansion and a yacht (and a drum machine), all the boys want to be me and the girls just want me, and have just scored 11 out of 11 Oscars! Rock!
It's all a trade-off. While I am reasonably happy with my life, I have zero time to be a writer myself (well, I have time at work...) and have had to give up a lot of things I loved along the way. Can't recall the last time I picked up a guitar. As for the job thing, it absolutely does NOT define who you are unless you let it. It's just something you do to pay the bills.
You'd probably feel a lot better if you did move out of town, sure. But how can you leave when you're getting a new Dianetics center downtown soon!
