..and as I wrote to someone else, it's going to take a long time for me to not have the image of John Paul II in my head whenever someone happens to mention "The Pope". I've been around longer than he has been the Pope, so I should remember the previous ones, but he's the only one who stands out in my mind because he was with us for so long!
