Lessee. First album I bought was Four-Way Street by CSNY, which remains one of my favorite albums of all time because all of the live Neil Young tunes are freaking incredible. I bought it at a neighbor's garage sale when I was maybe 8.
Most I ever dropped at once was about fi' hunnert bones at this tiny little place in Chania, Crete. The shop-owner just kept making recommendations, and I kept adding to the pile. Of the stack I bought that day, I have only seen two in the States, so I count it as a good purchase.
Favorite record store ever was the now-defunct Park Avenue Records in Seattle (it was actually on Mercer). #2 would have to be Blue Note Records in N. Miami, and #3 is Generation Records in Manhattan.
As for stories and such, there are far too many to post in one blog comment. Let's just say that record stores and I go WAY back.
