Nearing the end of vacation
Feb. 16th, 2011 08:31 pm...well, sort of, anyway. I don't have to be back to work until next Tuesday, so I'm not exactly wishing it was a longer vacation, at least not at this point. Ask me again on Sunday, and I'm sure I'll be saying differently.
It's been quite fun, a lot of driving, a lot of pictures, and even a goodly amount of shopping (including at a really cool bookstore in Monterey), and even quite a bit of food. We didn't hit everything we wanted to see or do (we didn't make it down to the beach here in Carmel), but I'm quite happy with everything else. And I took quite a few pictures (
emmalyon has been posting them in various places over the last few days), which I will upload and post once we get back home.
Suffice it to say, I haven't done a damn lick of writing since Sunday night, which is kind of driving me nuts (and all my LJ and Twitter friends posting their word count lately is making me feel somewhat inadequate. Well, that's what happens when you go on vacation and decided to actually enjoy it rather than working through it. That, and getting a fresher viewpoint after not looking at it over a few days helps too. I'll be posting something about that at my writing LJ upon return as well.
On that note...it's been wonderfully relaxing, stressless (aside from that one fool going the other way who crossed halfway into our lane on the PCH...luckily there was a pull-over and not a cliff to our right. ;) ), and I'm glad we decided to take the trip.
