Been awhile since I've driven for a commute
I kind of miss letting my mind wander
While I wait at the stoplights
And listening to the news in the morning
I used to drive for hours back in the day
With commutes halfway across the state
Now I jump on the local bus that takes me downtown
With nothing better to do than read a book
It's strange...the longer the distances,
The more time I seemed to have for everything
Now I feel I don't have enough to do it all
It's as if someone's stolen my sense of time
Or I've left it somewhere
Out on those New England roads
