Well, not entirely.

Earlier today a Brinks truck died in the middle of the intersection, and the only thing that was able to push it out of the way was a SFPD pickup truck.

And about twenty minutes ago a taxi just t-boned the front end of a family car, same exact spot. They were trying to take a left from Bay onto Stockton, and well...you know how crossing against traffic can be.

All this just goes to prove: Californians really don't have a clue how to drive. Not the accident or the incident themselves, but how the cars going through the intersection reacted: NO. FREAKIN'. CLUE. The Brinks truck blocked a lane and a half of traffic (Bay is two lanes each way), leaving oncoming traffic to have to weave partly into the oncoming lane to get around. And did the oncoming traffic take that into account when pulling up to the stop light? NOPE! A couple of cars stuck in the middle of the street with the guy in the way not moving because, well, he doesn't want to.

And the accident? Yeah, that's the primary reason behind the honking horns here--you're almost better off swinging around the block instead of crossing oncoming traffic because they--especially taxis--don't want to stop. Or at least don't think they have to stop. I'm honestly surprised there aren't more accidents at this intersection...

And don't get me started about the OMG LITE IS GREEN MUST GO NOW NOWNOWNOWNOWNOW!!!!1!11! that taxis are infamous for...or the fact that NO ONE in this entire city knows how to parallel park.

For those who don't read his wonderful music blog Armagideon Time, he's started a new blog about how to speak correctly in a Boston accent (that is, not speaking like a Kennedy), called Pronounced WOO-BIN.

Check it out! :)
