I figured it would only be a matter of time. I always get sick just days before Christmas, and today seems to be it. I'm not exactly stuffed up, but I'm not exactly feeling like a hundred bucks either. I woke up coughing (which has since gone away), but now I just feel achey and exhausted (didn't get all that much sleep last night), so I took the day off. I'm going to spend most of the morning lying down, I think.

And I'm sorry emmalyon, but I turned on the heat for a bit. It's STILL FRIKKIN' COLD in this apartment and I really don't want to stay in the warm bedroom all day long. I promise I won't have it on all day. :p

I am guessing your greatest heat loss is through the windows and the fireplace? For the windows, the shrinkwrap kits actually help, and for the fireplace, I recommend getting on as many junkmail lists as possible and then burning it for heat. :)

Note: You would have to separate the regular paper from glossy and only burn the regular because of the chemicals used in the glossy.

Mostly the windows. There are six total in the living room, two that are quite large (bay windows on Bay St. in SF? Who knew?), so I think it would actually cost more to get the shrinkwrap done. As for the fireplace, it's kind of small and I can just close the flue, so that's not a problem. Although I figure if I have the gumption, I should go over to Safeway and buy some more logs...

As for getting junkmail, sadly I shredded most of it already, and I think I get more spam than physical junk mail nowadays... :p
