I know, I'm posting like a madman tonight, but this has something to do with the story I'm currently writing. I seem to have forgotten a bit of geography and I need help. In particular, I'm thinking of that hill in Boston Common, the one that overlooks the big field/parking garage area to the west and the frog pond to the north. I know there's a statue on top of it, but I can't seem to remember what it was. Does anyone know offhand? Wikipedia sez it's the Civil War monument, but I'm skeptical.

Thanks! :)

Is it this one (righthand photo, Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument)? http://www.irishheritagetrail.com/mmilmore.html

In defense of the Wikipedia people, they're probably referring to the Shaw memorial across from the State House, which is also on a hill overlooking the the common (though the memorial faces the state house). It commemorates the Matthew Broderick character from the movie Glory and the 54th Massachusetts all-black regiment. It is, therefore, a civil war memorial (and a civil rights one, in a weird sort of way).
