Who's Stan?

Have you ever been doing something when the TV is on in the bg and you're not really paying too much attention to it?

The Allstate Insurance commercial has a guy saying the tagline "That's Allstate's stand. Are you in good hands?" but when I'm not paying attention, I keep thinking that he's saying "That's Allstate, Stan." Like he's asking a specific member of the viewing public if he's in good hands.

So who's this Stan, anyway?

That'd be Stan "the man" Crabapple, the only person in the country who has no clue what Allstate is.
