Hmm. I haven't updated regularly here in a few days, not including the little bits and stuff that I've posted. I haven't written the latest Radio Radio update yet. Looks as though I might have to work on that some time today. I also need to work on G&C some more, as I haven't had the time to do so lately...

Oh, and also, new cds by Sigur Ros, Blues Traveler, Cave In, The Cranes, The Dandy Warhols, not one but twoMike & the Mechanics titles, Stellastarr*, Super Furry Animals, and the next four volumes in the Director's Label dvds with Anton "I film nothing but models in grainy sepia tones" Corbijn, Jonathan Glazer (worth getting because of the disturbing UNKLE video he did), Mark Romanek, and Stephane Sednaoui. I'm seriously trying not to spend as much money as I want to this week...

Those Director's Label dvds are incredible. I have the first three (Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham and Michel Gondry). They're great collections of the director's best music videos along with various commercials and short films they've done over the years, along with audio commentary from some of the bands themselves. It's worth checking out, at any rate...


One more thing...

Can anybody tell me why, on the new Conjure One cd, Poe decided to go by the name "Jane"?? I'm not sure, but I think it's some legal problem she's had with Warner, but I'm just curious if that was it...

I believe Jane is her real name, isn't it?

hmm, some googling suggests it is Annie. But yes, she was having serious legal problems keeping her from performing any of the stuff she recorded for Warner until 2008 or so, so I imagine this is something like the whole Prince symbol thingy.

Yeah, her real name is Annie Danielewski (yes, brother of Mark).

And I'm actually kind of surprised that you didn't reprimand me for mentioning the fact that there are 2 M&tM cds coming out today...I did mention that fact solely for that purpose, you know... ;)

I can't wait to pick up the new ones. Amazon has a listing of what's on them, so that's cool. I haven't seen Glazer's video for "Rabbit In Your Headlights" in years. Quite possibly one of the most disturbing videos I've ever seen, yet in some weird way it's awesome. :)
