MD Flavor Testing

Don't know if anyone's noticed the new flavors of Mountain Dew out lately...three of them just recently came out, and of course you know I'll just have to try them out at least once. And apparently they all have ginseng in there as well.

This morning I finished off the MD Supernova, which has a very bright purple-pink color to it, and it has a strawberry/melon taste. Not bad...it doesn't have the lemony zing to it that regular MD has. 2 of 3 stars, I think. :)

Now? I'm trying out MD Revolution, which is wild berry flavored and has a grayish blue color. *opens bottle* Hmm. Interesting...that prefabricated berry taste...it's okay, but again, 2 out of 3. [EDIT: My coworker just commented that it has the same color as 2000 Flushes, so that may or may not be a good thing... :P ]

Haven't tried the MD Voltage yet (raspberry/citrus and an even scarier shade of bright blue). Will get back to you on that. ;)

All in all? I still like Code Red the best, but I thought the original Pitch Black (black grape flavor--not PBII, which was sour grape and kinda nasty) was great. And of course, nothing trumps the original!

LiveWire. Bright orangey goodness. My favorite Mt. Doom.

I've tried that, it's a little too sweet for my tastes if you can believe that. :p

Wow! See, that was the issue I had with the Pitch Black - waaaay too sweet for me.

Dewy was a morning in the month of May

Someone I once knew suggested a different name for the Pitch Black -- UltraViolet. And I have to say, I agree. How perfect would that've been? Ah well.

(subject from one of the lullabies my mother used to sing to me"

Dewy was a morning in the month of May,
Dewey was an Admiral in Manila Bay.
Dewy were her eyes when she kissed her love so true,
Do we love each other, well I should say we do.)

I knew they were coming out with new flavors, but haven't seen them yet.

On a side note: Random food thing I saw in Saveur magazine and figured I would pass along. http://slowfoodnation.org/
