In Honor of Canada Day...

The Tragically Hip with "Grace, Too"--one of the best-known and higly-regarded bands in Canada (pretty much their version of our Springsteen), with their best-known song.

Sloan, with "Underwhelmed". Another big-name band up that way, with their first hit. I'm proud to say I pushed this one heavily on my college radio station my senior year.

Loreena McKennitt, with "Lady of Shalott". Yes, she's singing Tennyson, but she does it beautifully!

Tim Chaisson & Morning Fold, "Slipping Away". Hey, whaddayaknow, he spells it my way! No idea if he's related (if so, VERY distantly, like most Chaissons from the eastern Canadian coast), but this is good stuff.

[meme] Day 14. A song that no one would expect you to love

Dude. Straight out of the gate on this clip, they show the best part of Donizetti's Daughter of the Regiment, possibly one of the most fun opera's I've ever been to see. Not too many guys can hit that high C there!
