Not watching the Grammys, but...

...I'd heard that Madonna and Gorillaz were supposed to do some opening thing with "Feel Good Inc" (which is nominated, btw). Then on Get Your Bootleg On I read on someone's post that they really hope that they don't have Madonna rapping the De La Soul parts.

Then today at work it hits me: I'd watch that opening just to hear Madonna rap the lines "Laughing gas these hazmats, fast cats, Lining them up-a like ass cracks, Ladies, homies, at the track, it's my chocolate attack..." :p

As it is, Patlabor is on AZN at the same time and I've got priorities, you know... ;)

I feel unclean. Just knowing that it MIGHT have happened is bad enough. Luckily, it didn't.

"Faring only slightly better was Carey's longtime rival, Madonna. Though she wasn't nominated for a single award, the Material Mommy reportedly demanded she open the show, much to the dismay of Carey.

The resulting, heavily hyped collaboration between Madonna and cartoon hip-hop band Gorillaz turned out to be sort of a cheat. Gorillaz played a shortened version of their Grammy-winning "Feel Good Inc.," followed by Madonna huffing and puffing her way through "Hung Up." A duet? Not really. (And Carey could go home happy knowing she didn't look as horrific as Madge and her lavender corset-and-leotard ensemble.)"

Phew.
