Owsley Stanley, aka 'Bear', dead at 76
For those who don't know San Francisco/Grateful Dead/hippie lore, Owsley was the guy from across the Bay who was the first to create LSD in large quantities. Interestingly enough, he was also behind quite a lot of the Grateful Dead's sound, having created their PA system and being their sound engineer for some time.
