Lemonade Stand

So lynxreign had mentioned old floppy disks in one of his posts this morning, and it got me thinking of the old Apple IIc games I used to play in high school...pretty tame compared to today of course, but at the time (1986-88) they were a lot of fun to play. These were simple games like Lemonade Stand, where you'd decide how many cups of lemonade you wanted to sell and for how much, and depending on the day/weather/chance, you'd see how much money you'd make with each turn. Nice little simple game about making profits and keeping it in the black. And if I remember, each day would start off with a quick MIDI song snippet like "Stormy Weather" or something like that.

The only other game I can think of at the moment was "Jungle Hunt", which was one of my favorites...another simple one, in which the player had to get a little guy to swing on vines, jump over boulders (which looked suspiciously like Cocoa Puffs), and swim with alligators.

So...anyone else have memories of those simple games of yore?

I used to have a C=64: I remember Archon, which I liked a lot, and also the ridiculously addictive Raid on Bungeling bay (didn't realize until I looked at the wiki that the fellow who wrote it went on to do the Sim City etcetera games!) and I spent a lot of time with F-15 Strike Eagle. I loved Elite.

We had a Trash80 color computer which had a space invaders clone that I would play for hours and hours. :)

I remember playing Jungle Hunt, or something very similar, on Atari. That and Adventure were my two favorites :D

For the Apple, I just remember the old, old, old version of Oregon Trail. Ah, the good old days, dying of a rattlesnake bite or typhoid... Good times.

Archon was always super-cool. Karateka was the shitnitz in it's day. The original Castle Wolfenstein. Wizardry.

Gads...I remember playing a text based Star Trek game written in Basic. We played it on a Mainframe...wasting obscene amounts of paper in the process.

The first video game I recall playing on a computer was on a Commodore Pet. There was this blocky guy with a somewhat blocky balloon. The object was to let go of the balloon and knock something out of the sky. Pretty slick at the time. Probably dull as dried paste now.
