De do do do de da da da

So I've been listening to my mp3 player at work a lot lately. A LOT. My latest thing is that I'm in the process of uploading all my absolute favorite songs (and there are quite a few), so I'm hitting a lot of good stuff as I let it play in random mode.

I've noticed some of the songs, particularly the ones dated 1996-2000 when I worked at the record store, are ones I want to sing along with. Unfortunately I can't really do that at work. Although I could sing as I ride the F line on Market Street and fit right in with the transient crowd... But yeah, it's kind of a bummer that I can't practice my 'meh' singing as much as I want. :p

A Music Conundrum

So I found myself getting frustrated because I wanted to listen to music while writing last night but couldn't decide what. Emm was threatening to throw on music if I couldn't pick something, but in the end I found the new Editors cd to listen to and it worked.

Strange thing was that I was getting frustrated...almost as if I was getting sick of the stuff I already had. I think I'm on the verge of purging even more cds again...a lot of stuff I have I don't listen to much, and most of it is on my hard drive.

The good thing about this is that I have at least two places where I can trade them in for money or credit (Rasputin or Amoeba). I've decided that if I do this I'll sell stuff first and buy new stuff with that credit/money, that way I'm not spending more money than I have to. I'm thinking this way I can keep going with buying the new titles that I've been wanting to pick up but feeling guilty about spending money on. Fair trade, no? :) That, and I'll have new stuff to listen to while writing. A win-win situation all around!

More on this later...

A new Smiths song, perhaps?

From the spam dept., the subject line:

"Richard, Ignorance Isn't Bliss."

This so sounds like a Morrissey-penned title.
